Size Guide

BRAS

A bra size has two components: the band size and the cup size. To determine your bra size, you need to take two measurements.

Bra Size:

First find your underbust size. Using a measuring tape, measure around your rib cage directly under your bust. Round the measurement to the nearest whole number. Add 4 to the underbust measurement if it is even, 5 if it is odd. An underbust measurement of 30" means your band size is 34, while 31" means a band size of 36.

Cup Size:

First find your bust size. Use the measuring tape to measure your bust where you are fullest. Round the measurement to the nearest whole number to determine your bust measurement. To determine your cup size, subtract the underbust measurement from the bust measurement. A differential of 1 is Cup A; 2 is Cup B; 3 is Cup C and so forth.. So, if your underbust measurement is 29 and your bust measurement is 32, you are a 34C (29+5= 34 band;  32-29=3 or C Cup).

But bear in mind this is only a guide. Fit is of utmost importance and adjustments are sometimes necessary due to different body types, bra designs or brands. To help with those adjustments, here a a few tips.

Useful Tips:

The cups fit but the band rides up in back: try a smaller band but increase the cup size.

If you wear a 36B and the back rides up, try a 34C instead (down from a 36 to a 34 band, up from a B cup to a C cup).

If you see puffy pockets under your arms, especially above the bra band , the band is too tight. Try a larger band and decrease the cup size. So, if you were wearing a 36C, try a 38B instead.

international Conversions:

We have been using the standard band size references for the US/UK. However, some other countries may use different ones. Here is a simple conversion chart:

        US/UK-----32------34------36------38------40

        France-----85------90------95------100----105

        Italy--------- 1--------2--------3--------4--------5

        Europe-----75------80------85-------90------95

Cup sizes however are universal

BRIEF, BIKINI, BOYSHORT, TANGA SIZE

These are generally sized XS, S, M, L, XL. Translation into dress sizes:

        XS  :    0 -2

        S     :    2- 4

        M    :     6 -8

        L     :   10-12

        XL  :   14-16

Again, adjustments may be necessary based on your body type. If you are wearing a size 8 mainly to accommodate a larger bust and your hips are narrow, you may opt for a Small instead of a Medium bottom for example.

When dealing with French or Italian sizes, you may encounter different references. Here is a quick reference chart:

        US/UK      ------XS------S------M-------L------XL

        France/     -------1--------2-------3-------4-------5

        Europe      ------36-----38------40------42-----44

CAMI & CHEMISE SIZE

Camisoles or camis and chemises usually follow the dress size chart:

                  S  =     0 - 4

                  M  =    6 - 8

                  L   =   10 - 12

                  XL=    14- 16

But your bust size does matter here: a petite size 2 woman may have to trade up to a Medium if she wears a 34D or 34E bra

GARTER BELT SIZE

We usually recommend that a garter belt fit snugly at the waist. Once the stockings are hooked to the garter belt, they tend to pull the belt down. A snug fit helps keep the belt in place. Over the years, however, we have encountered a few women who prefer to wear their garter belts on their hip because they prefer the longer torso look. Again, wearing lingerie is a matter of fit, comfort and esthetics as there is no ONE absolute rule.

STOCKING SIZE

When buying stockings, you need to consider both height and weight. Below is a recommended chart:

            Size                       Height                           Weight

            Small                 5'1"-----5'5"                      110---140  lbs

            Medium             5'5"-----5'8"                      130---160 lbs

            Large                 5'8"-----5'11''                    150---180 lbs

Take the next size up if you have particularly long legs, conversely take a smaller size if you have a longer torso.
